There are plenty of brides and grooms-to-be who cannot wait to get in front of the camera on their special day, but equally, there are many couples who are nervous at the thought of being photographed. If you love being in front of the lens, then an engagement shoot is an ideal opportunity to have some fun before your wedding. On the other hand, if you’re feeling anxious, it can be a good way to help you become more relaxed and get to know the process of wedding photography.
The following is a genuine quote from an email from a bride-to-be who I met with recently for an engagement photoshoot.
“…thanks so much for yesterday, I think we’re both a lot more relaxed in front of a camera now!! The pictures look amazing…”
During the session I give my couples hints and tips on how to pose and to let them know what to expect on the day, so they are fully prepared. In addition to boosting your confidence, you end up with a fabulous set of pictures to treasure and you can even use them to at your reception if you like! Although some photographers charge a premium for such shoots, I offer them as part of my service to you, and it’s completely free of charge. As well as being an integral part of building a relationship with your photographer, it also allows me to see how you react in front of the camera, giving you as much or as little guidance as you require to make you feel comfortable. It also allows you to see how I work behind the camera.
If possible, the photoshoot is also an ideal opportunity to check out your wedding venue, and I often do my photoshoots at the venue itself if possible, so that we can work out between us where the best photo opportunities are. With so many stunning wedding venues throughout the country, a beautiful backdrop is rarely hard to find.
Get in touch today and arrange a free engagement photoshoot. There’s absolutely no obligation to book me as your wedding photographer, but given the percentage of couples who book me for their wedding afterwards, sometimes on the very same day, you probably won’t have to look much further for your photographer…
