Sam and James got married the other week at St Dunstans Church and had their reception at Surrey Downs Golf Club. The rain threatened all day long, but everything turned out just fine and everyone had a wonderful day.
These are photos from the day, from the bridal preparations at home, to the church ceremony, and at the reception afterwards. I always get a few beautiful photographs of the bride before the wedding, and the natural sunlight through the window makes for some lovely portraits. Meeting the groom just before the ceremony provides a great chance to get a few images of the groom and ushers.
Following the ceremony, the first photo of the married couple is always important, and on this occasion the beautiful arch at the church provides a lovely frame for the photograph. With so much detail and activity at the reception, I make sure there is a wide variety of subjects captured for the couple – after all, so much time and effort and energy is spent making everything just-so, it’s vital to record the details.
The pictures of the first dance are always a favourite of mine. Those expressions of love and joy on the couple’s faces make for some beautifully emotional photographs.
