I just completed post-processing of my first wedding since the coronavirus pandemic hit us in March. My last wedding was on the night before lockdown happened across the country, and I've really missed photographing these joyous occasions on a summer's day. So what was it like? It was different in places, but it was still such a lovely day, and crucially, undeniably a wedding day. The couple was really lovely, the guests were really friendly, and I believe we all had a genuinely brilliant day despite social distancing and everything else.
The number of guests were legally capped at 30, so it was a smaller wedding. Guests at the church were sat at a Covid-safe distance. And singing was not permitted. But apart from that, it was a normal church wedding! We conducted some family and friends photography after the ceremony in the glorious sunshine, and then I took the couple away for a little photoshoot in the Surrey countryside fields near their home. Honestly, it was a lovely day, and I was so happy for the couple who didn't stop smiling all day long. Don't let the coronavirus spoil your day - you can still make your wedding a very special event!
