Or - what I’ve been up to over the past summer months, when a wedding photographer has no weddings to photograph!
With August being a traditionally super-busy month for weddings, this year I’ve found some time that I wouldn’t normally have, given the coronavirus pandemic and government lockdown and general bans on weddings. So what have I been up to? I’ve been trying to stay creative behind the camera, and have spent time meeting previous couples, new couples, new families, photographing portraits, and have even done some property photography for a national estate agent.
I always love catching-up with my old couples. I’ve photographed a couple for their anniversary and I’ve met new babies and was referred to their antenatal group new families too, so that has been really lovely. I’ve met new people around my local area doing mini lockdown doorstep photoshoots, an opportunity to meet locals that I wouldn’t usually be able to. My passion is photographing people, so I’m thankful that I’ve managed to spend some time photographing some portraits. And finally I’ve been involved with a national online estate agent to take photographs of their properties around my area.
With weddings restarting, I’ve even photographed two weddings in recent weeks, and have been consulting and meeting with new couples for their weddings both later this year and into next year.
If you’re planning a wedding, do get in touch and we can have a chat about your plans and photography requirements - I’ve really missed photographing weddings this summer, and can’t wait to get back into the swing of it very soon!
