At the end of October during government restrictions amidst the global coronavirus pandemic, I had the pleasure of photographing Vicky and Dean's wedding for them. This wedding had faced multiple challenges as official rules and guidelines kept changing, but we were able to plan through it, and although it wasn't the ideal wedding that the couple would have hoped for, everyone still had a really lovely day, as I hope the photos will show - albeit only 15 persons as per prevailing restrictions at the time.
Vicky very kindly filled-out a "real weddings" form for me, and I'm delighted to be able to present her wedding day to you. The couple originally met through mutual friends in the pub - when asked about their first impressions of each other, Vicky said that her exact thoughts were that he was "dishy" and his response was just simply, "wow".
Dean proposed to Vicky while on holiday in the Lake District, atop 'The Lion and The Lamb' mountain and they were engaged for two and half years. They wanted a rustic wedding in a barn, with a separate space for both the ceremony and reception. The Rivervale Barn, Yateley was perfect for them, a beautiful and unique, award-winning wedding barn in Hampshire - other barns they saw had only one room which needed a 'turn-around' during the reception.
The ceremony was simple and stylish, and all about the love. The bride wore a gorgeous lacy mermaid/fishtail dress from Wed2B with sparkly shoes from Nine West, and her bridesmaids were her sisters and her oldest and closest friend (who wore dresses from Boohoo); the groomsmen were the Dean's best friends (suits from Menswear.com and Next).
Vicky's favourite part of the day was getting married! Their first dance was to My Own Fault by Manny Walters, and Vicky's top tip to other brides and grooms:
"Take time throughout the wedding just to watch it happening as it goes by so quickly."
I hope you enjoy looking through Vicky and Dean's wedding photos as much as we all had fun taking them.
