Real Wedding - Mairi and Andrew’s Wedding at Warwick House, Southam, Warwickshire
Warwick House is a wonderful place to celebrate a wedding. From the welcoming team to the beautiful spaces, it’s one of the loveliest venues I’ve had the pleasure of photographing. Mairi and Andrew’s wedding was full of quiet, heartfelt moments, laughter and thoughtful touches - and a perfect example of how special a wedding at Warwick House can be.
Calm moments before the ceremony
The day began with a relaxed atmosphere as Mairi got ready with her bridespeople, while Andrew spent the morning with his groomsmen. Those quieter moments are some of my favourites to photograph: the happy anticipation, little conversations and final preparations before everyone comes together.
I take a gentle, unobtrusive approach throughout the day, so you can be present with the people around you while I capture the moments as they naturally unfold.
A lovely, emotional ceremony
The ceremony was intimate and moving, filled with the sort of emotion that makes a wedding day unforgettable. Mairi and Andrew’s connection came through in every part of it, from the walk down the aisle to the moments they shared after saying “I do.”
Warwick House offers a beautiful setting for a ceremony, and its attentive staff helped everything flow smoothly. It makes a real difference when the people looking after your day help you feel at ease.
Drinks, group photos and couple portraits
After the ceremony, guests gathered for drinks, group photographs and a chance to catch up. We made time for the family and friend photos Mairi and Andrew wanted, then stepped away for a few portraits together.
I like to keep couple portraits relaxed and straightforward. It’s a little breathing space in a busy day, and a chance to enjoy being newly married without feeling as though you’ve been taken away from your guests for too long.
A jigsaw hunt that got everyone mingling
Dinner brought one of the day’s most memorable ideas: a hunt for jigsaw pieces, designed to get guests talking and mingling. With free drinks as a reward, it worked a little too well! People were soon happily searching, swapping pieces and getting to know one another across the tables.
It was a lovely reflection of Mairi and Andrew’s thoughtfulness - and a reminder that the personal details are often what guests remember long after the wedding.
Speeches, cake and the first dance
The speeches brought plenty of laughter and a few emotional moments, before the celebrations continued with the cake cutting and Mairi and Andrew’s beautifully choreographed first dance, complete with a lift! As the evening got underway, the relaxed warmth of the day gave way to a joyful party.
From the first calm moments in the morning to the last dance floor photographs, it was a pleasure to document their story.
